Change is Good

The decisions have been made. After months of debating over options, my new truck has been ordered.

This truck, unlike my last two new trucks, had me dealing with a new salesman, at a “new to me” dealership. In years past, like many expediters, I dealt with dealerships in Ohio, but circumstances being what they are, I had to seek out a new salesman to do business with for my current and future truck purchases. It seems that most expediters know of only a few dealerships to work with, either in Ohio or Indiana, but let me tell you, you definitely have options on where to buy your next Freightliner or Western Star truck chassis.

When I order a new truck, I can get a little picky (okay, I get very picky) about some of the options. I figure if I am spending my hard earned dollars that I should get what I want or at least what I can afford. Although a good piece of equipment, a “dealer spec” truck is not my first choice. I prefer to plan and order exactly what my budget can afford instead of paying for unnecessary options I do not want or need. I was fortunate to find Blake George at Velocity Truck Center in Raleigh, NC. Initially, I was going to buy another Western Star, but after several spec options, I decided to scrap the Western Star specs and move those specs into a Freightliner Cascadia. Through the entire lengthy process, all the additional work to re spec a different truck and even some very detailed changes to each revision of the specs, Blake happily made every change and even researched compatibility issues each time I wanted to change options to ensure the truck would be functional and efficient for my needs.

If you are happy with your current dealership, that’s great, but if you want excellent service and attention to detail, give Blake a chance to show you how stress free the process can be. As a business owner, you at least owe it to yourself to also get a quote from more than one dealership to compare equipment costs.

For me, an OEM sleeper (properly equipped) is plenty, but if you require custom work, he can help with that as well. Blake can build your next truck, whatever the configuration. Custom sleeper - check.  APU choices - check. Generator options - check. Liftgate options - check. Dry box or Reefer - check. Freightliner or Western Star - check.

For those owners looking for a tractor, not an expedite truck, well, yes, you can also spec out your tractor with Blake as well.

New trucks are expensive, get the truck you need and the customer service you deserve.

This is not a paid endorsement. These are my personal opinions about a dealership and a salesman that I wanted to share with you. If you would like to talk to Blake about your next new truck, look up Velocity Truck Center, Raleigh, NC call and ask for Blake George.
